Dog that is spitting image of actor WILL FERRELL goes viral – leaving Twitter users in stitches.
A dog that looks like Will Ferrell has gone viral on Twitter, leaving social media users in stitches at the likeness to the famous actor.
Layla the Goldendoodle — a mix between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle — from Houston, Texas, has become a star on social media for her uncanny resemblance to the 54-year-old funnyman.
Owner and DJ Thomas Green, 28, uploaded a snap of the four-month-old pooch in his car on 1 February, suggesting she was the Anchorman star's furry doppelgänger.
The tweet has since gone viral, racking up over 262,000 likes and over 24,000 retweets.
"Someone said my dog looks like Will Ferrell and I can’t unsee it now [sic]," Thomas captioned the post.
"It was my ex girlfriend who told me she looked like Will Ferrell but cute," Thomas told Jam Press.
"I immediately laughed, pondered on it and was like 'Oh my God, she really does in the face'.
"I posted it late at night and woke up to 2,000-3,000 likes and was like 'Oh ok cool'.
"Throughout the day it just kept blowing up. I definitely didn’t expect the tweet to go viral.
"Twitter loves it, of course some people are disagreeing but you can’t please everyone."
Thousands of social media users agreed with Thomas' ex-girlfriend, seeing a distinct resemblance between the furry pooch and Ferrell.
"I'm not saying its the same person. I'm just saying we've never seen both of them in the same place at the same time....," wrote one user.
Retweeting the original photo, someone else added: "OMG this is so accurate."
"I was about to said “idk how to say this.. but this is Will Farrell” & then I saw the caption Lmao [sic]," added a third user.
"Your dog is better looking than Will," joked someone else.
A fifth person added: "This particular breed freaks me out because I always see a human face when I look at this type of dog."
"Thank you for this. I desperately needed this laugh", added another person.
Others were not as complimentary to the comparison, with one Twitter user commenting: "Ew i would have to get rid of it", and another adding: "I hate your dog so much." [sic]
With the actor deleting his Facebook account in 2018 and without official Twitter or Instagram accounts, we remain in the dark as to whether Ferrell agrees.
