An urban explorer has searched the abandoned home of a “royal history collector” – and found it chock full of newspapers dating back to the 1920s.

Daniel Sims, 31, from Huddersfield, visited the property in October 2021 after hearing about it from a fellow explorer.

Inside the “eerie” home – in a remote area of Lincolnshire – he found it had been left abandoned with the late owner’s possessions still inside.

Daniel regularly shares his adventures into abandoned buildings on his YouTube channel, BeardedReality.

In his recent video, he entered the house and found it full of lost treasures – including an extensive collection of newspapers dating back to the 1920s.

He found copies of the Daily Express chronicling the royal family and Second World War.

Copies included a box full of newspapers on Prince Charles and Princess Diana, including their wedding day in 1981.

Another newspaper from 1935 detailed the silver jubilee of George V.

A Weekly Illustrated souvenir and guide of the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth I from 1937 was also spotted, perfectly preserved in a box.

“I believe in the right hands these collections could be worth a lot of money indeed especially the papers as they were stored in such amazing conditions that some felt like they were still new,” Daniel told Jam Press.

“Something like that belongs to a museum for everyone to enjoy however I do not take things from places abandoned or not as that would be considered theft, and all I am there to do is document and take photos.

“For someone my age that also did my degree in history, this was an amazing find for me and would be very unlikely to see first-hand.”

One of the other collectors’ items found was stacks of the National Geographic magazine in a wardrobe, which Daniel found “hundreds” of piled together and dating back “decades”.

Next to the magazines were the works of Charles Dickens and drawers full of literature.

Elsewhere, dozens of books line the bookshelf and are stacked in various corners of the house.

Daniel also found “rare history books” a “rare collection of helmets”.

As he was leaving, he made a final shocking discovery – a pair of old dentures left in a plastic bag.

Daniel added: “The house itself was filled to the brim with so many things – everyday living items, a stunning piano, rare collections helmets and paintings, a strange calendar from 1966 and the woman's teeth sat in a bag.

“It was definitely a highlight explore out of the over 400 places I have done.”
