President Cyril Ramaphosa hosted a post SONA media briefing at Parliament’s Imbizo Centre. The president answered questions related to the contents of his SONA speech which was delivered at the Cape Town City Hall on Thursday 10 February.

Ramaphosa provided details on his plans to overhaul South Africa’s faltering and defunct state-owned enterprises. Her wants all state enterprises to be held in a state owned holding company modelled along the lines of Singapore’s Temasek.

The president said they’re are seeing a collaboration in which the Presidency is now seen as the nerve centre of government.

Ramaphosa answered questions around whether intelligence and security reports could have averted the July civil unrest which swept through the country.
