Pickup truck rolls into canal after driver forgets to set handbrake
This is the disastrous moment a pickup truck rolled into a canal after its driver forgot to set the handbrake.
The funny incident happened while driver Somchai Jaroenroop, 57, was loading the truck with rubber produce in his home in Nakhon Si Thammarat province, southern Thailand on February 14.
CCTV footage shows Somchai hauling the products onto the cargo bed, causing the pickup to roll forward and crash into a nearby canal despite his efforts to push it back.
Two of his neighbours were driving by and helped him tow the fallen truck back into his garage using their own vehicles. Surprisingly, it sustained minimal damage after the accident, with its bumper undented and only a minor scratch on its rear end.
Somchai said he realised his carelessness and posted the clip on social media to warn his audience to secure the handbrakes when parking their cars.
He added: 'I think the reason my car was not damaged was because of a protective amulet hung inside the truck. It was from the late abbot of the Wat Pradittharam temple.'
Meanwhile, Somchai's neighbours took photos of his license plate, believing the numbers will prove lucky in the lottery.
