A team of nature conservationists worked together to rescue a tapir that was found injured in Padang, Indonesia.

Nature Conservation Agency Indonesia (NCAI) evacuated the injured animal that had suffered wounds to its back and legs.

According to the NCAI tapirs are primarily herbivorous mammals. This protected animal in Indonesia has an average lifespan of 25 to 30 years in the wild.

An Indonesian protected animal tapir was injured and trapped in a residential area in Batu Busuk village, Pauh district, Padang City, West Sumatra province, on February 18, 2022.

The society and team from the Nature Conservation Agency Indonesia in West Sumatra evacuated the injured tapirs from residential areas to conservation areas, where it was treated by a conservation doctor.

This animal suffered injuries to multiple parts of its body, including its back and legs.
