This is the terrifying moment revellers were left hanging upside down on a jammed fairground ride.

The amusement park visitors were being tossed around on the rotating ride called the Dream Twister when it stopped mid-air in Manila, the Philippines on February 12.

At least 12 people were left hanging 20ft above the ground for a few minutes before park staff were able to control the ride again and bring them down.

No one was seriously injured but one of them was reportedly bruised after jumping down when the ride was lowered at the SkyRanch MOA in Pasay City.

Onlooker Mark Jayson Astudillo said: 'We were looking at the shore when we noticed something was wrong. People were stuck for almost three minutes.

'Everyone was removed from the ride but someone was injured when she fell. They were panicking and wanted to get off as soon as possible.

'The children were pitiful. They experienced extreme distress but the management seemed to have done nothing to compensate for the damage. I would never ride here again.'

No complaints have been filed in the local police station about the incident while the park management has not responded to the accident.
