Backhoe stuck next to floodgate after being swept by flash flood in western Thailand
A backhoe was stuck next to a floodgate after it was swept away by a flash flood in western Thailand.
Footage shows raging water pushing the heavy vehicle next to a bridge in Prachuap Kirikhan province on February 17.
The backhoe, along with four others, were reportedly hired by the Department of Irrigation to dredge the Bang Saphan canal. They began work on February 14, but torrential rains filled the reservoir and caused it to overflow - causing a sudden surge of violent torrents further downstream.
Two of the backhoes were swept away some 300 metres from the dredging site. Their drivers said they will wait until the water recedes before retrieving the equipment.
