Storm Eunice batters A380 on approach to London Heathrow Airport
Astonishing footage shows an Airbus A380 appearing to float in the air while it was being battered by Storm Eunice while landing at Heathrow Airport in London on Friday February 18.
The double-decker aircraft departed from Doho and was scheduled to land at 12:00 but on the West-facing 271 degrees approach, powerful winds from the south smashed into the flight.
Footage from Speedbird TV shows how the massive plane was overpowered by the force of nature and appeared to be pushed back in the air as it rocked violently from side-to-side - causing severe nerves for some of the passengers onboard.
The pilot aborted the landing and performed a go-around before successfully landing the five-year-old plane with the registration A7-API an hour later at 12:59.
Jace, from Speedbird TV, said: 'This was an incredible landing. Huge credit should be given to the pilots as they did a fantastic job. I'm glad they managed to get it down in the end.'
