Indian groom arrived by helicopter to pick up his bride in Rajasthan
A groom in India caused a stir when he used a chopper to pick up his bride on Saturday 19 February.
In the unusual incident, Vijender Saini, a resident of the village Camri in Karauli district arrived by helicopter to pick up his bride.
After getting married, he took the bride in the helicopter and landed at her village in Bharatpur.
Vijender married Khusboo, a resident of Nawar village in Bharatpur.
The chopper idea all started when Vijender’s father, Radheshyam Saini, was playing with a child of his family. While playing, he had a small toy helicopter with him. A villager who was passing taunted Radheshyam, saying he should use an actual helicopter for his son’s wedding.
Radheshyam instantly arranged for a helicopter after spending the hefty sum of 650,000 rupees (8,700 USD).
According to the locals, Dinesh, the father of the bride Khushboo, is poor.
The bride was very happy with the special helicopter ride as it was something she had not even dreamed of.
Seeing the bride and groom leaving in a helicopter, the villagers were quite excited about it.
A villager said that there was an atmosphere of happiness in the village when the bride Khushboo went to her in-laws' house in a helicopter with her husband after marriage.
When the groom reached his village to pick up his bride, the whole village gathered to see the helicopter. Police was deployed to control the crowds.
The groom's father, Radheshyam, works as a contractor in Karauli, where groom Bijendra helps his father.
