An elderly man, with the help of his son and another man, carved a giant Japanese superhero out of wood for his grandson in southern China.

Video filmed in the county of Changting in Fujian Province on February 18 shows an old man named Li Shishui, his son and a man from the neighbouring village using wood to make an around 1.8-metre-high Ultraman together.

Li started working as a carpenter in 1969. Since his grandson is a fan of Ultraman, Li and his son decided to create a giant one for him.

Li spent around 2,000 yuan to buy the wood (£230) and took over a month to finish the product.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
