Huge waves generated by Storm Franklin crashed into sea defence works in Colwyn Bay, Wales, on February 21.

An excavator was being used to move boulders onto the new defences but is repeatedly hit by the large waves.

The filmer told Newsflare: "The driver was forced to stop work and shelter in his cab until a short break in the waves allowed him to move the machinery back from the shoreline."

As high winds from Storm Franklin combine with a high spring tide, sea defence works on Colwyn Bay's Victorian Promenade come grinding to a halt.
