Video captured the terrifying descent of a plane coming in to land at Bristol airport in extreme winds on Monday 21 February.

The plane swayed violently before the hero pilots were able to get it safely onto the runway.

It was filmed as Storm Franklin hit the UK and showed the second arrival of the day -- an Aer Lingus A320 coming from Dublin, Ireland.

At the time of the landing. the wind was reported as coming from 260 degrees, at 29 knots (33mph, 53 km/h) with a max of 34 knots (39mph, 62 km/h).

It appears the crew hit some windshear just before touchdown, as evidenced by the rudder inputs as the pilots try to line the aircraft up with the runway.

As always, the pilots displayed excellent professionalism and got the aircraft down successfully in the end.

This was flight EI296/EIN296 from Dublin landing at 07:36am. The aircraft is EI-GAL, a 13-year-old Airbus A320.
