Scrubs Lane European Metal Recycling Center Fire 24th April 2012
At around 2:46pm on the 24th of April 2012 the European Metal Recycling plant caught fire. Smoke was visible before flames started to emerge from the estimated 3000 tonne pile of scrap metal.
Fire crews were called to the scene at 2:48pm. Approximately 40 firemen visited the scene and 8 firetrucks also showed up to reduce the chance of the fire spreading.
I am unaware of the cause of the fire.
