A woman steals a phone by keeping shopkeepers busy in Indonesia.

The actions of the perpetrators on Sunday, February 20 captured on hidden camera at 'Firza Cell' shop in Bukittinggi city, West Sumatra province.

The perpetrator, a woman wearing a blue shirt and red jacket, arrived at the shop.

She shifted the storefront door several times when the shopkeeper was busy taking things back and forth that the perpetrator asked for.

Then she seen taking a box containing a new phone from the storefront and hiding it under her jacket.

Shopkeeper Diana, 20, said she only realized the new phone was missing hours later when she checked stock before closing the shop.

"I checked the hidden camera footage, it turned out that the woman was the perpetrator. I was suspicious because she had many requests which made me busy taking things and changing money," Diana added.

According to Diana, the perpetrator was estimated to be 25 years old, wearing a mask and false eyebrows. Came to the store to buy a scratch-resistant phone screen, and then paid in large denominations.

The perpetrator then bought a headset and data cable, then returned to paying both of them alternately with large denominations, the reason being that they needed small denominations.

As a result of this theft, the victim suffered a loss of a new phone for 2,100,000 Indonesian rupiah or 147 USD.

The victim shares the theft footage on social media while asking the perpetrator to return the stolen phone or the perpetrator will be reported to the police.
