Debris was seen at the site where a missile struck an advertising hoarding in southwestern Kyiv on February 24.

Footage from a reporter on the ground shows the aftermath of the blast as glass and the remains of the hoardings were scattered across the pavement of Vasylkivska Street.

She also claimed the missile "damaged a residential home."

Explosions and missile strikes have been reported near major cities in Ukraine on Thursday (February 24) as Russian forces launch a major military assault.

In a televised statement earlier on Thursday morning, Russian leader Vladimir Putin said he was not planning to occupy Ukraine and called on its military to lay down their weapons.
