Pilots were forced to land sideways into the strong wind at Birmingham’s BHX Airport in Storm Gladys, the fourth storm in 2 weeks to hit the UK on February 24, bringing gale-force winds and heavy snow to the United Kingdom.

A Logan Air flight from the Isle of Man was seen landing sideways as the strong 45mph crosswinds buffeted the fuselage.

It wasn’t just the smaller airlines that were hit with problems, Jet2 aircraft from Rome had a hard landing and bounced after it hit the tarmac.

Pilots have previously battled strong winds from Storms Dudley, Eunice and Franklin all within the second month of the year.
