Locals in Jhargram, West Bengal, were left panicked as an elephant herd strayed into their village on February 24.

According to reports, the four elephants raided the local plantation along with a bigger herd.

Panic gripped locals in eastern India's West Bengal after a herd of elephants, including a calf, strayed into the residential area.

The incident took place in Binpur area of Jhargram district on February 24.

Visuals showed a group of locals chasing three elephants and a calf, who emerges from the field and runs towards the surrounding forest, ensuing a chaos among onlookers.

According to reports, the four elephants raided the local plantation along with a bigger herd. While the others left, they were stranded and raided crops. However, the locals were able to scare them away from the plantation, leading to the drama.

Fortunately, no one was hurt.
