After the UK announced measures to ban Russia's flagship carrier, Aeroflot on Thursday, Russia has responded Friday (February 25) by announcing a ban on all UK flights to the world's largest nation.

Stock footage shows various Aeroflot planes landing at different airports throughout Europe including Gatwick, Heathrow, Zurich, Geneva and Amsterdam.

Not long after Russia invaded Ukraine, the UK CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) issued the following NOTAM (Notice to Airmen): 'no aircraft on a scheduled service which is owned, chartered or operated by a person connected with Russia, or which is registered in Russia shall fly in the United Kingdom airspace, including in the airspace above the United Kingdom's territorial sea.' This means that russian airlines, including Aeroflot, S7 airlines and Rossiya airlines will all be banned from flying over, or into the UK.
