Vaccinations for children, adults and the elderly continue to be promoted by the Indonesian National Police. The vaccination was carried out by the South Sulawesi Regional Police at the De'Bollo building, Sungguminasa, Gowa Regency, Saturday, February 26, 2022. The aim of the vaccination is to prevent the spread of the Omicron variant of Covid-19,

Present at the vaccination, the South Sulawesi Police Chief Inspector General of Police Nana Sudjana along with the Deputy Head of the National Police Intelligence and Security Agency, Inspector General Merdisyam and also the Regent of Gowa Adnan Purrichta Ichsan.

A number of children also participated in the first and second stages of vaccination. There are also adults who carry out complete vaccinations.

South Sulawesi Police Chief Inspector General of Police Nana Sudjana in his statement said, "the current development of covid-19 in South Sulawesi in the last three weeks has experienced a significant increase. In the last two weeks the average number of people who have been confirmed positive for Covid-19 is more than 1,000 people.

This is quite high and the majority are in Makassar City and Gowa Regency. We must remain vigilant, and anticipate the spread of Covid, especially since I believe Omicron has entered South Sulawesi.

I ask all people to be vigilant at all times. There are three keys to handling COVID-19, firstly, improving health protocols, always wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance and reducing mobility. Moreover, omicron is increasing.

Furthermore, vaccination must be carried out, in order to maintain the condition of the body. We have to be immune and we have so far reached 84 percent of people who have been vaccinated in South Sulawesi," he said. (*)
