A four-and-a-half-year-old child fell into a borewell in northern India's Rajasthan on February 24. The incident took place in the Bijarniya Ki Dhani village, located in the Sikar district.

Visuals feature the rescue operations underway. The concerned authorities pump oxygen into the borewell from its entrance while panic-stricken onlookers gather around the spot. Meanwhile, the rescuers dig out a tunnel for safe evacuation. After several hours of tireless efforts, the team pulls the boy to safety, who clings onto a savior while getting back to the surface.

As per reports, the child, identified as Ravindra, is believed to be stuck some 50-feet below the ground. Moreover, the rescuers are digging the land parallel to the borewell to rescue the child and are monitoring his movements through a CCTV camera lowered into the well.

So far, the officials have dug a passage that is 45-feet-deep. Meanwhile, teams associated with the local police, NDRF (National Disaster Response Force), and SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) are present on the spot.

While the rescuers worked tirelessly all night, Ravindra's 12-year-old sister, Sonu, stayed put near the borewell's opening, talking to her little brother and making sure he was awake the entire night.

Apart from pumping oxygen, the rescuers provided water, milk, and biscuits through a rope to Ravindra during the rescue operation that went on for nearly 26 hours in the Khatushyamji police station area.

Moreover, the child fell into the open borewell on Thursday, following which he was successfully rescued on Friday evening after several hours of continuous efforts.
