Rally against Russian occupation in front of the Russian embassy in Lima, Peru
This footage was filmed and produced 25 February 2022.
Anti-war actions in support of Ukraine take place in the largest cities of the world as Moscow began a full-scale invasion on the territory of Ukraine on February 24, at 5 AM in the morning.
This video illustrates a rally against russian occupation in Ukraine happening in front of the Russian embassy located in Lima, Peru. Ukranian residents gather on February 25 to protests against the russian occupation of Ukraine. You can hear them chanting: "Putin get out of Ukraine!"
Interviews:
Ukrainian resident (with glasses and blue cap): Before, before he (Putin) announced the war, he bought bags, black bags for the dead. He bought bags for his Russian countrymen. And thank God, today, we are defending successfully our territory. The Ukrainian army is well prepared.
Interviewer: What would you say to your family (who still lives there)?
Ukrainian resident: Lots of strength, lots of faith. Never, even if they try, even if they try (the russians), they will not take the government, they won’t.
Ukrainian resident with yellow and blue cap and mask on: We are two different people, we think differently and we don’t want the Russian government. Ukraine is an independent country, it has a democracy, a sovereign government and that is what we want to maintain. We want to be part of Europe, part of the European Union.
Peruvian citizen with a yellow scarf and black mask: We want to express that our solidarity with the Ukrainian people lies mainly because Mykháilo Skybytskyi, the hero of the independence of Peru, lost (died) in the battle of Ayacucho (a location in Peru). A Ukrainian, that was far away from his motherland, died, for what is now the Republic of Peru. That is in the first place. And in the second place, basically, because we cannot accept what the Russian country is doing, through Putin with Ukraine. He (Putin) is destroying the lives of the Ukrainians. Last night 150 people died. People are running to the ATMs, there are immense lines of people.
