The war launched by Russia against Ukraine was protested in Istanbul. Anti-war slogans were shouted in the action carried out by the "Istanbul Labor, Peace and Democracy Forces". In the action where banners read "No to imperialist war. Peoples want peace", slogans such as "Long live the brotherhood of peoples", "Murderer Russia, get out of Ukraine", "No to war, peace right now" were chanted.

"Along with the USA and Russia, the AKP-MHP ruling bloc also has a presence in the Middle East and Syria with their war policies and interferes the freely coexistence of peoples of the region, notably in Rojava and Northern Syria. We summon the government, for abandoning their war policies and withdraw their military presence in other countries, and leave NATO, the organization of war.
In the Ukraine crisis, settlements have already started to be bombed and many civilians have lost their lives and been injured. As in all wars, the oppressed and the laborers pay for those war policies and suffer most.
Yet, the only innocent people of this crisis are the people and laborers living in the region. Because of that, from past to present, while the proletarians and oppressed people have defended the peace, the imperialists have seen exploitation and war as the basis of their existence.
We know;
War means death, pain, tears, and destruction!
War means oppression, violence, and exploitation multiplied!
War means that while the bread and butter of the working people are getting smaller, lining pockets of the riches are getting filled!
War means the complete abolition of the rights of labor!
War means covering up the repression policies of the governments. It is a disregard for human rights, law, and justice! It means the destruction of the environment and nature!
As long as the war continues, they will fill their coffers and the people will be obliged to poverty! As it is claimed, banks and capital won't be affected by those sanctions, but the poor rights and those who live by their labor will be affected the most from the mentioned economic sanctions.
It is not too late to stop the war.
Russia should give up the occupation, stop its attacks, and create peace in the region and create opportunities for the peoples to decide their own future.
Military pacts, especially NATO, should be dissolved, and military presence in other countries should be terminated. In this context, all foreign powers in Ukraine should withdraw.
Resources allocated to war and armament in our country and in the world should be used for public services and a life worthy of human dignity.
Concessions should not be made to warmongers, those who want to profit from the war and create a new justification for their own repression policies.
Labor and democracy forces should raise the struggle for peace against the imperialists and imperialist policies who want war, and they should form a peace bloc. We emphasize once again; The war must be ended immediately, and peace must be established without any delay. Long live international solidarity, long live peace."
