Florentines hold solidarity protest for Ukraine during Russian invasion

On Sunday, February 27 at 5:00pm, the city of Florence, Italy, held a protest against Russia's invasion of Ukraine in solidarity with the Ukrainian people.

Many flags of peace, together with those of Ukraine and also of Georgia. Present was the mayor of Florence Dario Nardella together with the mayor of Athens Kostas Bakogiannis, the president of the Tuscany Region Eugenio Giani, the archbishop of Florence Giuseppe Betori and the chief rabbi Gadi Piperno.

The representative of the Ukrainian consulate in Florence, Oxana Polattaitchouk, thanked Italy. "Our cities are being razed to the ground, even children are dying. Thank you for your support, you are an extraordinary people, an example of civilization and democracy."
