Hero police officer saves girl stuck high above ground in metro station in Delhi

An eight-year-old girl was rescued by a police officer in northern India's Delhi on February 27.

The incident took place at Nirman Vihar metro station.

The girl had climbed over the fence at the metro station while playing, before realising how dangerously high up she was and then panicking.

The extraordinary height was reported to be 25 feet or 7.6m above ground.

As she began to shiver in fear, a member of the Indian armed police force the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) rushed to the spot and bravely clambered over to where she was.

He carefully picked her up in his arms and made his way back down the ledge they were balanced on.

Finally, the girl was handed over to her family as other applaused the man for his heroism.
