Firefighters cleared deep snow off roads road to allow vehicles to pick up two pregnant women in southwestern China.

Video filmed in the city of Kunming in Yunnan Province on February 22 shows an ambulance, a local official's car and a fire engine driving through the snow-covered road to pick up two pregnant women who were about to give birth.

Since the vehicles got stuck in the deep snow, the firefighters used shovels to clean the snow to open the road for the vehicles.

After around five hours, the two pregnant women were sent to the health centre and they both successfully gave birth on February 23.

2022年2月22日上午，昆明东川区部分乡镇突降大雪，乡镇道路通行严重受阻。红土地镇卫生院接到群众求助，大坪子村一位还未到预产期的孕产妇出现临产症状，大雪封路，产妇无法出村。而前去救援的卫生院医务人员和救护车因积雪太深，困在半路进退两难。
红土地镇卫生院立即向上级部门报告求援，在区政府的统筹指挥下，区卫生健康局、区消防大队和红土地镇人民政府立即抽调人员、车辆组成救援力量，冒着风雪严寒赶赴孕产妇家中开展医疗救护工作。
同时，区人民医院产科专家也在消防队员的护送下紧急前往红土镇卫生院支援。中午12点卫生院又接报龙树村一名孕产妇出现临产症状，救援队连续作战。
由于一些路段的积雪深度达到一米，车辆无法前行，消防人员多次下车铲雪，一点点刨出路面，供车辆通行。当晚9时50分，经过近5个小时的艰难前行，救援人员与医护人员成功到达孕妇所在地红土地卫生院。2月23日临晨，两名产妇先后顺利生产，母子平安。
