Stunning bioluminesce water in San Diego returns to dazzle and satisfy

This is the majestic scene on the beaches of Carlsbad, California shortly after midnight on Tuesday (March 1) as the famed bioluminescent waves return to brilliantly light up the night.

"It is caused by dinoflagellates that light up as a defense mechanism to confuse predators like fish. They also light up when disturbed by crashing waves. This has been going on for the last several nights here in Carlsbad and will likely continue for several more nights," Mark Girardeau, the filmer, tells Newsflare.
