Outside of the Russian and American consulates in Thessaloniki, Greece, protesters took the flag of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and burned it on Tuesday (March 1), blaming the defensive military alignment of not adequately protecting Ukrainians.

Thousands of protesters marched outside the US consulate of Thessaloniki and burned the flag of NATO while chanting slogans against USA and North Atlantic Treaty Organization, accusing them for actions resulting Russia to attack in Ukraine. Crowds also gathered few meters outside Russian consulate of Thessaloniki holding anti-war banners, only to met by riot police blockade.
