Chimps keep warm with hemp sacks as temperature drops in northern Thailand
Chimps kept warm with hemp sacks this week as temperatures dropped in northern Thailand.
Footage shows the primates using rice sacks as coats and bedding to protect themselves from the chilly weather in Nakhon Ratchasima on February 28.
Officials at the region's zoo also installed equipment to help tropical animals keep warm after the sudden cold weather hit the province.
Zoo director Thanachon Kensing said: 'The weather has been 10 degrees Celsius cooler in the past five days. We have ordered the caretakers to watch the animals closely and provide vitamin supplements to keep them healthy.’
