Huge wild cobra hiding inside dorm toilet sparks panic at all-girls school
A huge wild cobra sparked panic at an all-girls school after it was found hiding inside their dorm's toilet.
The 4ft-long deadly snake was reportedly trying to catch a frog near the drain when students saw it in Krabi province, southern Thailand on February 2.
Upon seeing the girls, it stopped coming after the frog and hid inside the toilet instead before the terrified girls rushed to call their teachers for help.
The cobra sighting was reported to animal rescuers who arrived at the school to catch it while frantic students waited outside.
Khun Gai, one of the teachers, said: 'The children were on their way back to the dormitory but one of them who stayed in room 29 said she saw a large cobra move towards the bathroom.'
The rescuer volunteers used a rod with a hook to pull the snake. The reptile tried to resist at first and lunged on the man before trying to slither inside the drain but without success.
Soon after, the rescuer was able to place the snake inside a net bag to release back into the wild.
No one was reported hurt in the incident including the snake, but teachers said they would do a general cleaning of the dorms to make sure that no other snake had been hiding in the rooms.
