Omkar Jilla, a student studying medicine in Ivano, Ukraine at the Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University has joined the hundreds of thousands of refugees fleeing the area after Russia launched an invasion of neighboring Ukraine seven days ago.

Jilla describes the situation on Tuesday (March 1) as he and fellow students arrived safely via bus, but noted the incredibly long lines facing many refugees in Dobrovelychkivka, the region of Romania he and others have taken refuge.

Jilla said many refugees are waiting up to three days to cross the border and said he and his fellow students are "stuck here."
