A nearly 70-year-old elephant's carcass was found after weeks of its demise in northeastern India's Assam on March 3.

The incident took place in the Nambor - Doigrung Wildlife Sanctuary, located in the Golaghat district.

Visuals feature the jumbo lying lifelessly on the ground while the forest officials light something in its proximity and spray a liquid around.

The elephant died in the sanctuary premises due to natural reasons. However, its body was found weeks later by the concerned officials, who then took stock of the situation.
