This is the touching moment a family of dogs stuck under a bridge were rescued.

A family of Aspin pooches were reportedly abandoned in the dried-up canal and were discovered by a passerby in Las Pinas City, the Philippines on February 21.

The mother dog and her four puppies were then given some food and water before being evacuated from the trash-filled canal.

Footage shows the starving dogs happily eating together while being surrounded by garbage under a bridge.

Columbia Siy who found the dog said: 'Actually, my apartment was so close to the dumpsite that I used to hear the cries of abandoned animals, and I often rescued the kittens.

'When I heard the dogs, I went out to check and saw a mother dog with her puppies. They were looking at me like they were asking to be taken so I gave them food to befriend them.'

After gaining the dogs' trust, Columbia took them one by one into his apartment where they were cleaned and checked for injuries. The dogs were generally healthy despite looking a bit thin.

All of the rescued dogs have been adopted by the kind passerby.
