A wild leopard manages to enter a house and hides under the courtyard cooler.

The owner, Abha, immediately raises the alarm by letting his neighbors and the police know. People gather outside the house to witness the scene.

The rescue operation begins with the Forestry officers setting up a big net to trap the large animal. At first, this method seems to work.

Footage filmed on March 4 in Meerut, India's Uttar Pradesh, shows the leopard desperately wiggling around and scratching the net to escape. After 10 minutes, the leopard breaks the net and runs away, spreading panic in the village.

It finally hides under a bush, where it remains for many hours before being safely tranquilised and rescued by the officers.

The leopard will be released into the Shivalik forest.
