Our filmers camper van was almost hit by a ship when he was having lunch by the Kiel Canal (Nord-Ostsee-Kanal). If you listen carefully you can hear the Anchor chain going out as the vessel approaches the shore, so it's likely the autopilot failed. Luckily it seems the ship wasn't badly damaged as it was later able to drive off. This event happened in Nord-Ostsee-Kanal, Germany on February 2nd, 2018.

Footage was recorded at: Nord-Ostsee-Kanal, Germany
