Residents in central India got the fright of their lives recently when a wild crocodile entered their village.

Footage captured on March 11 in the Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh showed the scaly intruder shortly after locals discovered it and subdued it with ropes.

Officials from the forest department later arrived on the scene and relocated the reptile.

In a shocking incident, locals in central India's Madhya Pradesh caught a crocodile and paraded it, after it strayed into their locality.

The incident took place on March 11 near Kolaras in Shivpuri district of the state.

Visuals showed the locals poking the crocodile and later parading it by tying the reptile with a rope. Another shows forest officials rescuing the reptile.

According to reports, the crocodile entered the locality after coming out from the nearby waterbody. Locals spotted the reptile and quickly tied it with a rope. It was later rescued by forest officials after they were informed about its presence in the area.
