Uber just announced that drivers will benefit from a fuel surcharge that will take effect on Wednesday, March 16 2022 in response to the rising gas prices because of the war in Ukraine. The amount varies by city, but in Houston, this will be 55 cents extra on every ride, and 45 cents on every delivery paid by the customer, directly to the driver. Uber stated in an e-mail that this is temporary and will be re-evaluated in 60 days.

The video was taken in the official Rideshare drop off and pick up area of the 2022 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR) which is located in NRG Stadium’s Yellow on March 12, 2022
