Smoke flares lit, rape alarms thrown at Charing Cross police station in London by Sarah Everard protesters

Left-wing protest group Sisters Uncut let off smoke flares and threw blaring rape alarms at Charing Cross Police Station in London on Saturday 12 March.

It was part of a protest a year on from the Met Police's forceful attempt to break up the vigil for Sarah Everard on London's Clapham Common in March 2021.

Sarah Everard was murdered by police officer Wayne Couzens and protesters had gathered in the large London park to remember her death, but police attempted to break up the protest by force as the gathering was illegal under coronavirus restrictions active at the time.

The feminist direct action group is also part of the UK's so-called 'kill the bill' movement against a policing bill that could sharply curtail the right to protest.

They claimed to have thrown '1,000' rape alarms at the building. A number that cannot be verified.
