A girl in South India smashed 106 coconuts laid around her sister, while blindfolded, in just two minutes on 8 March.

The extraordinary scene was filmed in Aarani Thiruvannamalai District of Tamil Nadu.

Shruthi set a new record - 106 - for the most coconuts smashed in two minutes around a person while blindfolded.

Grade 8 student Sruthi had an urge to achieve something. On International Women's Day (March 8) she wanted to make a record and prove that girls are not inferior to boys.

So she let her trusting sister lie on the ground, surrounded by coconuts, while she smashed them as fast as she could, without ever being able to see them.

Previous record holders include Rakesh B and Prabhakar Reddy, who each smashed 49 coconuts in one minute, in Nellore area of South India.

The most coconuts smashed around a person blindfolded in one minute is 106 and was achieved by Shruthi in Arani area of ThiruvannamalaI District in Tamilnadu, India on 8 th March 2022. Sruthi who is studying in her Grade 8 has an urge to achieve something. On women s day she wanted to make a record and prove that girls are no longer inferior to boys. So she let her sister lie on the ground and placed coconuts around her and smashed most number of coconuts.

She smashed 106 coconuts in two minutes. Earlier Rakesh B and Prabhakar Reddy both smashed 49 coconuts in one minute in Nellore area of South India. They both got their names placed in Guinness world of records.
