'Aaron Bull has shared footage of his mesmerizing and memorable underwater encounter with a spotted lagoon ray.

The video, filmed at Siaba Besar (in Komodo National Park), shows the said stingray chomping down on the underwater sand without paying any attention to the camera in front of it.

"I found this Spotted Lagoon Stingray lying on the sand at a depth of around 15 meters," Aaron wrote. "I noticed that it was filtering the sand through its gills, most probably finding things to feed on. I approached slowly to take the shot and it seemed undeterred by my presence.

"Usually, they are quite shy and will swim away quite quickly but I managed to get really close and was able to film for over a minute before it started to move away."
