Local rescuers had to drill through a manhole cover to save a stuck kitten.

Concerned locals contacted the rescue team after spotting the feline's head poking out from the concrete cover in Chon Buri province, Thailand on March 3.

Upon arrival, the team found that the tabby cat’s head was too large to be pulled out from the hole. They had to break the concrete cover to rescue the cat.

The team took two hours to break the cover using a drill. They managed to free the kitten but its head was still stuck in the metal pipe.

Rescue volunteer Theerapat Thainoo said: 'Rescuing the cat from the cover was not easy. I’m glad the kitten is now in a nice and loving home.'

They had to use different metal cutting equipment before finally rescuing the stray animal in one piece. The tired kitten was adopted by a kind local watching at the scene.
