A resident of Kharkiv in Ukraine wept today (March 14) after shelling from Russian forces injured three of his neighbours and destroyed his car.

Exclusive footage showed Sergey, who didn't give his last name, inspecting his completely burned-out vehicle this morning in the Metruk area of the city.

Russian shells landed in the courtyard of this residential block the night before and blew out the windows of nearby homes.

Fortunately, a curfew was in place at the time meaning residents were behind closed doors or in shelters.

"I was at home at around 930 pm last night and I heard the explosion," he said, trying in vain to hold back the tears.

"In the morning I saw that the shell had hit my car," he added, standing beside the mangled wreck of his vehicle.

"I used this car as a volunteer bringing food to those in bomb shelters," he said.

"I'm overwhelmed with emotions, I'll cry now but I'm holding on," he added.

"I have a little son and I give him hope that everything will be fine," Sergey said.

"They (Putin and the Russian army) will answer for this," he concluded.

The injured were residents of a nearby first-floor apartment, according to reports.
