A wax statue of a family's late uncle was used for a girl's ear-piercing ceremony in Dindugal, Tamil Nadu.

Footage from March 13 shows the family preparing the wax figure ready for their daughter's ceremony.

Thaai Mama lost her brother in an accident and arranged for a wax statue of him to be made.

Mama's daughter was made to sit on her uncle's lap while she got her ears pierced.

Ear piercing ceremony of a girl child is celebrated on a grand manner in South India. On the day of the ceremony, the kid has to be sat on her uncle’s lap (Thaai Mama- Mom’s brother)then only her ears will be pierced .

A women in South India lost her brother in an accident. And even after a few years she mourned for the demise of her brother as she arranged ear pierce ceremony for her daughter.

In order to cheer her up the family decided to give her a pleasant surprise. They made a wax statue of the late brother and brought it to the function venue.

Delighted sister cried out of joy. Then the daughter was made to sit on the wax statue and her ears were pierced.
