Powerful explosions rocked the Ukrainian capital Kyiv on March 15 as Russian air strikes hit residential buildings and a metro station.

Exclusive footage showed the aftermath of two attacks in the Sviatoshynskyi district of the capital.

A nine-storey residential block was hit causing damage and fires.

A nearby 16-storey apartment building was also struck and the bodies of two people were recovered from the burning building, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES).

"At the moment, we know about the death of two people, 46 people were saved, said Svitlana Vodolaga from the SES.

"Rescuers are simultaneously putting out the fire and looking for possible victims. The final figures for the dead and injured will be known after the complete elimination of the fire," she added.
