Cow with five legs seen walking towards mosque in Thailand
A cow with five legs was seen walking towards a mosque in Thailand.
The mutant farm animal was with its herd free-ranging in along a road next to grassland in Songkhla province on February 23.
It had an extra limb poking out of its back but aside from that the cow looked and behaved normally which even stopped to let an approaching vehicle pass by.
Astonished driver Kittipat Chepong said: 'I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. I could not believe what I was seeing so I slowed down the car to have a good look.'
The five legged-cow is believed to have a genetic disorder called polymelia which is caused by improper cell division during conception.
A 2002 study stated that the condition is extremely uncommon among cattle having inflicted only one cattle in every 100,000.
