A farmer transformed a two-hectare plantation into a field of colourful flowers.

Chutikan Ponkratok, 39, planted an assortment of blooms on his land near tourist destination Phanom Rung Castle so visitors could take pictures in Buriram province, northeast Thailand.

The fowers range from Marigold, Sunflowers, Cosmos, Silver Cock's Comb, Verbena, and many others that were set to be in full bloom this summer.

Footage shows locals enjoying the colourful display on March 14.

The Thai farmer said: ‘I used to plant only Marigolds for sale but when covid-19 hit, I had to find a new source of income. I didn’t want to switch the land into anything else because I love flowers so I spoke to an expert and transformed this place into a new tourist attraction.’

'The flower field entry for kids is only 10 THB and for adults is 20 THB. I also allow locals to come in and open stalls on the land for free.'

Tourist Amornrat Chapprakon, 34, said: 'I heard about this flower field from social media so I came. The field got me excited because it's very beautiful. I posted on social media and my friends are asking me where this place is.'
