A huge cobra was found hiding under a family’s living room chair.

Saruta Tummanee, 48, was sitting outside her house in Krabi province, southern Thailand on February 2 when she saw a truck running over the python which was crawling on the road. The injured reptile then slithered into her property while taking refuge from the speeding vehicles.

Shocked Saruta contacted the animal rescue team and waited outside her home. Upon arrival, the specialists found villagers waiting outside Saruta’s house to watch as they catch the snake.

As they entered the house, the team discovered the python curled under a chair in the living room. It had wounds on its body from being crushed by the truck.

They snake wranglers caught the creature and applied medicine to its injuries. It will be released to the jungle after the treatment.
