A Thai vendor sells rainbow-coloured hard-boiled eggs.

Loong Jai has developed the unusual technique to dust the shells in colourful shades of green, pink, blue, lilac and yellow.

He grills them over hot coals before serving them to visitors to a market in Nakhon Pathom province, central Thailand.

Unlike other grilled egg peddlers, Loong Jai allows customers to choose how the colourful eggs are cooked as well as a choice between century or chicken eggs.

He has soy sauce, sour sauce, pepper, and other tasty condiments ready for his customers.

The vendor said: ‘I used to grill the eggs like any other stall but I noticed how customers have different preferences for how they like their eggs cooked.

'That’s when I introduced the cooking level chart to the shop and also started selling different types of eggs.’

His egg grill stall is open from 5 pm to 9:30 pm every day.
