MotoGP riders hit the streets of the Indonesian capital today (March 17) ahead of this weekend's Grand Prix at Mandalika with many hoping to catch a glimpse of World Champion Marc Márquez.

President Jokowi waved off the special parade through the streets of the capital with 20 riders from MotoGP, Moto2, Moto3 and Asia Talent Cup classes taking part in the 4km ride.

The parade which was carried out by MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 racers on the streets of Jakarta, received a standing ovation. Residents and lovers of the most prestigious motor racing sport on the planet, spilled onto the streets from the Merdeka Palace route, Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara to the HI roundabout. They want to see firsthand the action of the world's racers. Although not in racing activities, the actions of these racers still invite the enthusiasm of the people of Jakarta. Moreover, there were a total of 20 racers who took to the streets after having an audience with President Jokowi at the Merdeka Palace. They are world champions Marc Marquez, Francesco Bagnaia, Johann Zarco, Alex Marquez, Joan Mir, Gabriel Rodrigo, Enea Bastianini, Andrea Dovizioso, Pol Espargaró Villà, Jack Miller and Fabio Di Giannantonio. In addition, there are also the names of the riders Darryn Binder, Takaaki Nakagami, Jorge Martin, Bo Bendsneyder, Alex Rins, Marco Bezzecchi and Luca Marini. Two drivers from Indonesia, Moto3 racer Mario Aji, and a racer at the IATC (Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup) Veda Ega Pratama event were also seen. Previously, one by one in turn, the racers took pictures with President Jokowi who was also wearing a racing suit in the Credential Room. Then before leaving for the parade, all racers took pictures with President Jokowi in the Merdeka Palace courtyard.
