A group of passengers riding in a car had a lucky escape after being chased by an elephant at an animal reserve in southern India's Karnataka.

The incident took place at the Bandipur National Park on March 15.

Visuals showed the car reversing, expertly navigated by the driver, as the pachyderm chases it. The chase continues for a while before the mammoth gives up, much to the passengers' relief.

Such man-animal conflict takes place at times. While it does make for an exciting visual, the same cannot be said for those involved during the incident, as an elephant is capable of crushing cars under its massive weight.
