Footage filmed yesterday evening (March 17) show racegoers urinating by the playground in Pittville Park, Cheltenham. The Gold Cup happens today. Cheltenham Borough Council have stated: "We are doing as much as we can but this is not our event. Please take this up with Cheltenham Racecourse." According to reports on social media, dozens of residents have reported visitors to the races urinating and defecating near the racecourse. One resident on Twitter said: "I work in Cheltenham and for the whole of race week the town is flooded with out of town h**kers, kilos of coke and thousands of drunken lairy a***holes p**ing in resident's gardens. Oh, and dead horses. In 2022. Beggars belief."
Another said, "It's an offence to urinate in public but nobody stops the offenders. Peeing in litter bins, parks, in people's gardens and other public places is NOT acceptable, the police and the racecourse need to act."
